THE CLAIM

No steering wheel means no design compromise. Purpose-built for autonomy from day one. Not a car with controls removed. A vehicle that was never designed to need them. That changes the economics of every single component on the car.

THE NUMBER

$10 trillion. That's Musk's estimate of the global autonomous transport market. Ride-hailing, logistics, last-mile delivery. All operated by a fleet that doesn't sleep, call in sick, or demand a raise. At $0.20 per mile, the math breaks every incumbent model currently operating at scale.

THE RISK

FSD has to work. At scale, in rain, in construction zones, in every edge case imaginable. Waymo has a head start in mapped, geofenced areas. Tesla's bet is that end-to-end neural nets beat HD maps. That the system generalizes rather than memorizes. If that's right, Cybercab wins everything. If it's wrong, this is a very expensive experiment with someone else's car insurance.
